MY PONDICHERRI “DOOR” TABLE
I love this table! I visited it for months at Pondicherri in Sequim, taking measurements, going home and measuring my couch and living room setup, hoping against hope that it would somehow fit. At one point I thought I’d have to get a new couch just to accommodate that wonderful antique coffee table. My husband was convinced it would not fit and advised me to forget about it. I couldn’t. I continued to visit. I even brought friends with me. One friend went home with me and we worked all one evening moving furniture around in my living room to see if we could make it fit. I decided we could. Tamara, the lifesaver, suggested we bring the coffee table that was destined to be mine home on approval. I could bring it back if it didn’t work. Maybe I should call her Tamara the magician. She knew what I didn’t. Once I got it in my living room it wasn’t going to go anywhere else! It didn’t. It sits there in front of my couch as if it grew there. I love it. Something about it speaks to me. It is old, probably at least 150 years, and was most likely a door in another life in India. That’s what makes it so special to me -- the idea of all the people down through the years who passed through it, going about their lives. I am connected to them somehow. Thank you, Tamara, and Pondicherri!! |

Your reversible silk jacket is a favorite in my wardrobe. Whenever I wear it, I get lots of compliments on it. It is like having two jackets in one - Brown on one side and Turquoise on the other. I always feel "put together" when I have it on. |
